Individuation is the process of becoming an indivisible person or a 'whole man'.
We are all born with a unique set of codes in our body, from our DNA to our astrological birth chart, our finger prints and biometrics etc. Our individual essence is fundamentally numerical, it's a code that is unique to us.
In alchemy it is understood that all essences, being numbers, are eternal, they are not subject to the same cycles of growth and decay as material objects, rather they are numerical quantities that exist outside and independent of the material realm.
Our individual essence is expressed in our bodies, it's inside of us, but to express it outwardly requires independent creative work, the courage to step out from the herd and be different, it takes a willingness to be vulnerable for the sake of your own growth and learning.
The goal of alchemy is to 'cast and recast' your own soul over and over in good works until it becomes strengthened like a finely crafted sword.
